January 23: Launchpad hosts Paws for Epilepsy benefit show

On January 23, Albuquerque’s own Launchpad, in conjunction with Silent Promotions, showcases a benefit show for Paws for Epilepsy. Featured bands include Indemnified, Ballistic Batz, Destroy to Recreate, Fallen Prophets, and Severkill. Doors for this 21+all-ages show are scheduled to open at 8 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 9 p.m. Entry is only $5 but is subject to change at the door.

Albuquerque’s Indemnified play experimental and progressive rock. The band counts as influences Maximum the Hormone and Tool. Indemnified’s new full-length studio CD is titled Clockwork Soldier.

Formed in early 2010, Rio Rancho’s Destroy to Recreate play alternative metal with punk influences. The band’s name reflects its goal of overcoming obstacles and challenges, as well as keeping an ever-evolving band together. Check out their latest CD D.I.R.T. on cdbaby.

Formed in 2008, Albuquerque’s Severkill play a potent combination of metal and rock. They have been compared to bands such as Staind, Trivium, and Alice in Chains.

Around since 1997, Albuquerque’s Launchpad has played host to bands of numerous genres, including punk, indie rock, and metal. The Launchpad is located on 618 Central Avenue Southwest, which is between 6th and 7th streets.
