January 23: Hooligans welcomes Alighieri and more

On January 23, Albuquerque’s Hooligans, in conjunction with Joe Angel Productions, welcomes Alighieri, When Darkness Falls, Illumina, Driven by Malice, and Synchronicity. Doors for this 21+ show open at 7:30 p.m., with the show kicking off at 8 p.m. Entry is only $7.

Hailing from California, Alighieri play a combination of death metal, hardcore, and avant-garde music. The band’s latest EP is titled The Malignant Pulse.

Hailing from the Pueblo of Acoma in New Mexico, When Darkness Falls formed in 2004 and originally went by the moniker Tormented Soul. The band released their debut CD in 2008 titled A New Defense. The band is in the studio recording a second CD, which should be completed in the near future.

Albuquerque’s Illumina play metal. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled The Black Guardian.

Hailing from Belen, Driven by Malice play death metal.

Hailing from Rio Rancho, Synchronicity play death metal. This relatively new band on the scene consists of Brandon Pea (rhythm and lead guitar and vocals), Kevin Balzano (rhythm and lead guitar and vocals), and Colin Gudelj (drums).
