The Roar Before the Rolex 24 – Friday through Sunday, January 3rd through 5th, at Daytona International Speedway, featuring the newly-formed TUDOR United Sports Car Championship and the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. The weekend practice session in advance of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Saturday and Sunday, January 25th and 26th gives fans a chance to go behind-the-scenes with tours, fan forums, tech talks and more – find a complete schedule of events here. Tickets for the Roar Before the Rolex 24 are $15 each day and include garage access. Rolex 24 at Daytona ticket holders and kids 12 and under receive free admission each day. NASCAR Preseason Thunder – Thursday through Tuesday, January 9th through 14th, at Daytona International Speedway, featuring all three of NASCAR’s top series. The Sprint Cup Series visits for two days – and four sessions – of on-track activity on Thursday and Friday, January 9th and 10th, followed by Nationwide Series testing on Saturday and Sunday, January 11th and 12th and Camping World Truck Series testing on Monday and Tuesday, January 13th and 14th. All test sessions are scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon ET and from 1 to 5 p.m. ET. Fans can watch each day’s testing at no cost from a section of the Oldfield Grandstands on the Speedway’s frontstretch. Preseason Thunder will also include Fan Fest, an event featuring driver question-and-answer opportunities, autograph sessions and more. The Preseason Thunder Fan Fests are scheduled on Thursday night, January 9th for the Sprint Cup Series and Saturday night, January 11th for the Nationwide Series. Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals – Tuesday through Saturday, January 14th through 18th at Tulsa Expo Raceway in Oklahoma. Approximately 250 drivers are signed up for this premier indoor midget car race, including names like Sammy and Kevin Swindell (with a total of nine wins between them), Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Kasey Kahne (in a Jason Leffler tribute car in conjunction with two-time Chili Bowl winner Tony Stewart and Bobby East), Joey Saldana and Chad Boat. Four nights of qualifying races culminate in Saturday’s championship event, to take home the prestigious “Golden Driller.” Find out more about the Chili Bowl at www.chilibowl.com.
PRO Winter Warm-up – Friday and Saturday, January 17th and 18th at Palm Beach International Raceway in Florida. NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car teams head to Florida for the fourth annual practice session under the lights at PBIR, including drivers John, Brittany and Courtney Force; Robert Hight; Shawn Langdon and Khalid alBalooshi of Al-Anabi Racing; Don Schumacher Racing drivers Matt Hagan, Ron Capps, Jack Beckman, Tommy Johnson Jr., Tony Schumacher, Spencer Massey and Antron Brown; Kalitta Motorsports drivers Doug Kalitta, Alexis DeJoria, Del Worsham and David Grubnic; and many others. Two-day spectator tickets are $50 for adults, $25 for kids 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under; gates open at 4 p.m. ET, with racing from 5 to 7 p.m. each night – find more information at racepbir.com.
Rolex 24 at Daytona – Thursday and Sunday, January 23rd through 26th at Daytona International Speedway. The longest event on the inaugural TUDOR United Sports Car Championship schedule is in its 52nd year, running from 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 25th to 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, January 26th.
