January 2: Synchro Studio unleashes grind, crust, and thrash

On January 2, Albuquerque’s Synchro Studio presents Laughing Dog, Swamp Wolf, Doomed to Exist, The Conjuring, and Hanta. Doors for this all-ages show open at 7 p.m., with the show kicking off at 8 p.m.

Formed in the mid-1990s in Albuquerque’s Laughing Dog play a combination of grindcore and straight-on punk that they like to call “old town grind.” The band’s motto says it all: “Let the music speak.”

Arizona’s Swamp Wolf play a combination of black metal, doom metal, and thrash metal. The band says, “We just want to shred.”

Albuquerque’s Doomed to Exist play a twisted combination of punk rock, grindcore, and thrash metal. As the band says: “Viva la Grimecore!”

Albuquerque’s The Conjuring play a combination of thrash and traditional metal. The band counts as influences Savatage, Death, and Slayer.

Albuquerque’s Hanta (a Roñoso side project) play blackened crust.
