We've reached the halfway point of the first month of 2012, and as expected, jazz performances continue to surge forward in the Queen City. The Week Ahead, brought to you by The Jazz Half, brings you some of their recommended upcoming shows:
If you haven't yet checked out The Blue Wisp's new location on 7th and Race, Monday evening is a great night to drop in and swing to some Big Band Dancing. The music starts at 7:30pm. Attendance is $10.
On Tuesday the 17th, cross the river to the Dee Felice Cafe in the heart of the Main Strasse for Cajun cuisine and Jazz Pianist Mike Darrah from 6 - 10pm. Dee Felice is located on 529 Main Street in Covington.
Wednesday evening is a good time to stop by Sitwells in Clifton to hear the CEA Award winning, Gypsy Jazz group Faux Frenchmen. Sitwells is located on 324 Ludlow Street in Clifton. The music can be heard from 7:00 to 11:00pm.

Have a taste for Bar-b-que and Jazz? Then Pit to Plate is just the place for you on Thursday night. Stop in to Pit to Plate, 8021 Hamilton Avenue in Mt. Healthy to hear Bob Rowlette on Bass, and Pete Papania in Guitar from 6:30 to 9:00pm
Rounding out the week is the smooth, collaborative sounds of Pianist Don Steins, with Paul Hawthorne on Vibes and Vocals performing at the Iron Horse from 6:00 to 10:00pm. The Iron Horse is located at 40 Village Square, in the heart of Glendale.
