Janosik fires 829 set at Bowland; Aleshire, Hill roll perfect games

An 829 series by Mike Janosik, plus perfect games by Mike Aleshire and Brian Hall, highlight this week's Examiner.com report of top accomplishments in league play in the Sarasota-Manatee-Charlotte County area.

Janosik, a 21-year-old righthander, blasted games of 296, 286 and 247 en route to his big series, posted in the Adam & Eve Mixed League last Monday night at Treasure Lanes in Port Charlotte. Two nights later at the same center, he pounded out games of 267, 263 and 248 for a 778 set in the Al Davis Memorial League, upping his average to 228.

Aleshire's perfect game came in the middle of a 788 series in the After Hours Bail Bonds/Advanced Home Improvement League at AMF Venice Lanes, and Hall's 300 came in Game 2 of a 695 series in the Guys & Dolls Mixed League at Treasure Lanes.

The top effort by a female bowler was turned in by Alexes Fry, who blasted a 725 series on games of 238, 209 and 278 in the Friday Night Mixed League at Bowland Port Charlotte.

Four players posted far-over-average games. Dave Staehlin fired a 107-over 277 in the La Malinche Restaurant League at Sarasota Lanes, David Engel had a 107-over 276 in the Beef O'Brady's/Parquette Insurance League at Treasure Lanes, Joe Boner had a 102-over 248 game in the GLBT League at AMF Gulf Gate.and Art Gill had a 100-over 266 in the TGIF League at AMF Venice.

Rolling far-over-average series were: Cindy Territo, with a 218-over 683 on games of 245, 235 and 203 in the C&L Awards League at Sarasota Lanes; Steve Jacob, with a 163-over 661 in the Environmental A/C League at AMF Gulf Gate; and Kevin Clark, with a 159-over 723 that included a 267 game in the Honest A/C League at AMF Venice.
