A janitor at a New York City public school has been arrested after authorities say he sexually assaulted a woman inside a Brooklyn middle school, WABC-TV reported Sunday.

Herman Zapata, 51, of Jackson Heights, Queens, was charged with a slew of felonies, including rape, sex abuse, sexual misconduct, unlawful imprisonment and assault.

Authorities said the attack occurred around 3:45 p.m. Saturday while Zapata was on-duty at the middle school in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn. Police did not identify the school, but said the woman was held against her will in an office in the building, the television station reported.

According to the New York Daily News, the 17-year-old victim was a former student at the school who was at the school to meet an unidentified third party. Police provided no other details about the victim, other than saying she was not a student at the school and did not work there.

It was not immediately clear when Zapata would face a judge for arraignment.
