On July 22, 2014, Janet Krupin a Musician/Broadway Performer and head vocalist of the new musical hit Trillium -- The Aurora E.P. It is an amazing collaboration of exquisite vocals and electronic art. Musican Janet Krupin and Producer Alex Caraballo spoke to Manalapan health Examiner Stacey Chillemi. Both Janet and her Producer Alex have battled anxiety and depression. Janet and Alex used the obstacles they have encountered in their life and turned it into something good by creating a unique blend of theatricality and electronica that captures the battles between good and evil, light and dark, creation and destruction. This interview has just been released to the public and Manalapan health Examiner is here to share it exclusively with you.
Janet Krupin and Alex Caraballo shocked themselves with how transcendent music can be when they created their first single Bandit within the first four hours of jamming together for the first time. He had a track, she had some lyrics, and they found out what happens when you put two people together who want to make music people love and blossomed with their shared desire to see more integrity and consciousness in the dance music scene.
They recorded in stolen hours between -- Janet working in If/Then on Broadway and Alex taking classes and studying at Brooklyn Law School. Their goal was to create a beautiful, healthy and engaging experience.
Music is meant to take you on a journey,” says Janet. Dance requires motion which causes all sorts of wonderful things to happen – physically, psychologically and beyond. We’re seeking to create a tribal feeling of wellness that is a combination of workout and musical therapy, says Janet.
“The tracks we created seek to tap and feed off the crazy pulse of the world that surrounds us. We aim at giving everyone the same feeling one gets watching a really spectacular live show. Our goal is to make people feel more connected to their fellow man. We want to help people be the change they want to see in the world, says Alex”.
One of the many layered experiences comes from their lyrics, which are filled with expressions of feelings that people yearn for everywhere. One favorite line is “I’ll spend my whole life long chasing ways to live inside a song”.
“People feel happy and safe inside of a song. They always are trying to find a way to make that blissful feeling stay. I’ve learned that impulse will eat me if I don’t eat it first”, says Janet.
“Eat, Sleep, Art. Repeat. The medium may shift but the hustle never stops”, Alex says.
Both Janet and Alex have battled anxiety and depression. Trillium is the palpable evolution of two driven, talented, experienced, creative people with backgrounds that are wide and varied. It is a unique blend of theatricality and electronica that captures the battles between good and evil, light and dark, creation and destruction.
Close your eyes and journey inside yourself. Work through the junk. After listening to Trillium you should feel cleansed like you’ve just finished a workout.
“Concerts are the best therapy we ever experienced” they say. “So we’re creating that environment for people”.
