Janet Jackson, 46, and Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana secretly got married last year according to ET Online on Feb. 25. For weeks, rumors have been rampant that Jackson was planning an elaborate wedding to Al Mana. However, we have now been informed that it is not going to happen since the couple already married last year.
Janet and Wissam announced in a joint statement as a couple exclusively to ET stating:
"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony. Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet"
There were reports in December 2012 indicating that the superstar had accepted a marriage proposal from Al Mana a few months earlier. It was also suggested that the couple was planning to wed in the spring of 2013 in his native Qatar. I guess they spoofed us all. This is Jackson's third marriage who was previously wed to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo, Jr.
