Janet Jackson is married. The singer said Monday that she has been married since last year, Yahoo! News reports in a story that is buzzing the Internet.
A Janet Jackson representative confirmed that Jackson and musician Wissam al Mana got married last year.
That wedding marked the second time Jackson got married in secret. She secretly married Rene Elizondo Jr. in 1991 and they separated 8 years later.
Jackson, 46, first got married in 1984 to singer James DeBarge when she was 18. That marriage only lasted three months
In a joint statement to Entertainment Tonight, Jackson and Al Mana said that their wedding was a “quiet, private and beautiful ceremony."
Jackson’s nephew and the son of the late Michael Jackson, Prince Jackson, works for Entertainment Tonight as an interviewer.
The statement added that the couple would like privacy.
