Yes, Janet Jackson married for a third time and talk of children is in the air. The "Control" singer and her new hubsand, billionaire, Wissam Al Mana, confirmed their "quiet" nuptials in a statement released by Entertainment Tonight on Monday. With Janet Jackson married, hopefully she won't ask the question as her movie goes, "Why did I get married?"
According to a Feb. 25 report, MTV said the newlyweds are over the moon about their new life together. However, one thing that shocked many who were only wedding-watch for the couple is the dish about hush-hush nuptials.
"Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony. Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children's charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet," the statement to ET read.
Ever since the couple got engaged back in December after dating since 2010, news outlets ran stories from super-secret insiders, who claimed Janet and Wissam were having a lavish ceremony.
At the time the tabloid and online gossip swirled around, sources say the singer and her Qatari businessman were flying the entire Jackson family to the overseas nuptials. What's more, the ceremony was supposed to be one of the largest and most storied on record.
After all, with the wealth of her future husband, having a multi-million dollar wedding was not necessarily out of the ordinary.
However, Janet Jackson got married in a quiet and quaint ceremony last year when many were on watch for a date at some point this year.
It turns out that fans, critics and paps were all punk'd and the couple managed to tie the knot on the down-low.
With Janet at 46 and her husband at 37, that qualifies the singer as a cougar who finally wed her boy-toy.
On kids in the couple's future: Janet said that she wants to have several children with her new husband. However, if she does not have them biologically, she is more than happy to adopt.
With Janet Jackson married, it marks her third time jumping the broom; her marriages to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo both ended in divorce.
Hopefully, this time around, she's a little bit more in "control."
