Janet Jackson is married. The singer married Qatari billionaire, Wissam Al Mana, some time in 2012. On Feb. 25, Us Weekly reported that Jackson and Al Mana wed in a super-private ceremony and managed to keep their marriage a secret for months.
"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony. Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children's charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy," the couple said in a joint statement on Monday.
Janet Jackson got married some time last year but she and Al Mana did not say when exactly. While news of her engagement broke in December, the media was evidently lagging. According to a source, Jackson chooses not to wear her wedding ring out in public because "she's afraid it will get lost." So while the media was reporting on Janet's engagement, that was really old news. She was actually already married.
Jackson has done her best to keep her relationships out of the public eye. She has been dating Al Mana for over two years but she rarely talks about him or shows him off at public events.
Janet Jackson has been married two other times. Her ex-husbands are James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo.
