Janet Jackson is a billionaire according to the latest calculations of her wealth. The singer's album sales, world tours, and film roles all contributed. According to a United Press International report on May 22, 2013, she now joins her husband in the billionaire's club.

"She announced in February that she married Qatari retail billionaire Wissam Al Mana in a private ceremony in 2012."

As one of the best-selling artists in history Jackson has made $260 million from sales of her albums including, "Control", Janet", and "Rhythm Nation 1814." Another $81 million came from publishing fees attributed to books and music. She brought in another $500 million from touring and sponsorships. And even $300 million from her movie roles as an actress easily pushes the total over the $1.1 billion mark. As one of the wealthiest women in the world Jackson is in good company with the likes of Oprah, Madonna and Steve Jobs's widow Laurene Powell Jobs.

She is also in the early stages of creating a new album too. Although her career began in the 1970s, at age 47 Janet is just getting started. There is much more to come from the youngest Jackson sibling to be sure.
