On this night the room was not only filled with stars, the room glittered with leopard print, be-jeweled, and mirror covered stars in the form of Costume Designers; the elite group of artists that turn TV and film actors into your favorite characters.
In partnership with Lacoste and hosted by Jane Lynch, the local 892 honored their artists at The Costume Designers Guild Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton (the hotel most recently known as the last place Whitney Houston was seen alive). These wizards behind the emerald curtain, create period, contemporary, and fantasy costumes with the help of supportive teams, working at a grueling pace that adds upwards of 60 hours a week. But this starry night was designed to kick off the work boots, strap on 5-inch heels, and celebrate with our peers.
Clint Eastwood in attendance with CD Deborah Hopper was presented with the Distinguished Collaborator Award for their partnership on over 20 films in 28 years. Hopper/Eastwood films include Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Letters from Iwo Jima, Changeling, and J.Edgar.
