Jane Fonda joins 'This Is Where I Leave You'

Deadline has learned today that the two-time Academy Award winning Jane Fonda (“Monster-In-Law”) has joined the cast of Shawn Levy’s (“Real Steel”) upcoming adaptation “This Is Where I Leave You.”

Based on the novel by Jonathan Tropper, the story focuses on a dysfunctional family reunited for a very tense week to mourn the death of their patriarch.

Tina Fey (“Date Night”) and Jason Bateman (“Smokin’ Aces”) are already set to play two of the children, and now Fonda is set to play Hillary Foxman, the newly widowed mother.

Tropper wrote the screenplay himself so you know the film will follow pretty closely to the source material which is always a good thing.

It’ll be nice to see Jane on the big screen again since the last “big” thing she did was “Georgia Rule” with the terrible Lindsey Lohan.
