For Tuesday, January 8th 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Raising Hope (FOX, 8 p.m.) – “Credit Where Credit is Due” – Jimmy (Lucas Neff) wants to buy a car that’s safer for Hope (Baylie and Rylie Cregut), but he can’t because his parents ruined his credit. Desperate to make it up to him, Burt (Garret Dillahunt) and Virginia (Martha Plimpton) try to make a deal with their bank.
Happy Endings (ABC, 9 p.m.) – "Ordinary Extraordinary Love" – When a hot young pop star stops in and buys a dress at Alex's (Elisha Cuthbert) store, Penny (Casey Wilson) helps Alex turns it into a press opportunity...but not all publicity is necessarily good publicity. Meanwhile, Max (Adam Pally) is having an identity crisis, so Jane (Eliza Coupe) and Derrick (Stephen Guarino) take him on a tour of Chicago's themed gay bars to help him find his niche, and Brad (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Dave (Zachary Knighton) try to be "men" and fix things around the house.
The New Normal (NBC, 9:30 p.m.) – “The Goldie Rush” – Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) discuss their future and how big they want to grow their family. The conversation leads them back to Expanding Families where Gary (guest-star Michael Hitchcock) reveals that he wants a family of his own but he can’t seem to find the right guy. Bryan and David play matchmakers and set him up with Bryan’s ex-boyfriend and legendary party boy Monty (guest star Matt Bomer), but their plan leads to more than they bargained for when Monty asks Goldie (Georgia King) to be his surrogate. Elsewhere, Rocky (NeNe Leakes) and Jane (Ellen Barkin) help Shania (Bebe Wood) deal with some mean girls.
Parenthood (NBC, 10 p.m.) – “Small Victories” – Drew (Miles Heizer) and Amy (Skyler Day) receive news that will forever change their relationship, leading Mark (Jason Ritter) to express his concerns to Sarah (Lauren Graham). Adam (Peter Krause) and Kristina (Monica Potter) are presented with new parenting dilemmas as they help Max (Max Burkholder) navigate through life as a teenager. Crosby (Dax Shepard) is growing increasingly impatient with his mother-in-law Renee (Tina Lifford) causing conflict with Jasmine (Joy Bryant). Victor (Xolo Mariduena) is confrontational towards Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) causing them to question their parenting abilities.
Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) – “Blue Sunday” – In the fourth season premiere, Jules (Courteney Cox) and Grayson (Josh Hopkins) are in their first week of marriage, but it's not all wedded bliss for the latter, who has a lot to learn about being Jules' husband. Meanwhile, Bobby (Brian Van Holt) tries giving fatherly advice to Travis (Dan Byrd) after he turns 21; and Ellie (Christa Miller) and Laurie (Busy Philipps) console a depressed Jules when Grayson won't apologize for what he did in her dream.
