For Friday, January 25th 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Nikita (The CW, 8 p.m.) – “Aftermath” – Nikita (Maggie Q) and Owen (Devon Sawa) face off against a rogue “cleaner” named Liam (guest star Pedro Pascal), while Michael (Shane West) takes a new position at Division. Michael and Nikita’s relationship becomes strained as he watches her work with Owen.
Spartacus: War of the Damned (STARZ, 9 p.m.) – “Enemies of Rome” – In the season premiere, Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) sees his army grow and deal a serious blow to Rome’s fighting legions, which leads Roman officials to seek empire-saving funding from Marcus Crassuss (Simon Murrells).
Banshee (Cinemax, 10 p.m.) – “Meet the New Boss” – Banshee investors envision big-time profits from a mixed martial arts title bout being held at the casino, but the champion ruffles some feathers, and the event may be KO’d.
Portlandia (IFC, 10 p.m.) – “Off The Grid” – The mayor (Kyle Maclachlan) steps down after a particularly embarrassing environmental scandal, a battle of the local Gentle Bands wages, the Gutterpunks try to find a missing cat, and an inspector stops by Peter (Carrie Brownstein) and Nance’s (Fred Armisen).
Merlin (Syfy, 10 p.m.) – “Another’s Sorrow” – Morgana (Katie McGrath) comes dangerously close to getting her revenge, using Princess Mithian (Janet Montgomery) as bait.
