Jan 22 2013, What to watch: 'Raising Hope', 'Parenthood', 'Cougar Town', more

For Tuesday, January 22nd 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:

Hart of Dixie (The CW, 8 p.m.) – “Islands in the Stream” – When George’s (Scott Porter) parents come to visit, they are thrown when they meet his new girlfriend, Tansy (guest star Mircea Monroe), and George’s mother devises a plan that forces George and Zoe (Rachel Bilson) to address their feelings for one another. Lemon (Jaime King) discovers that Brick (Tim Matheson) has a secret girlfriend and is shocked when she finds out who it is. Meanwhile, Annabeth (guest star Kaitlyn Black) is smitten with a charming British visitor to the town, but Lavon (Cress Williams) grows suspicious of him and is determined to uncover his real identity.

Raising Hope (FOX, 8 p.m.) – “What Happens at Howdy’s Doesn’t Stay at Howdy’s” – Jimmy (Lucas Neff) initially refuses a bachelor party, given who is offering to throw it for him, but when Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) says he should go for it, he does—only to end up regretting it when the true motives behind it are revealed.

The New Normal (NBC, 9:30 p.m.) – “Gaydar” – When Shania (Bebe Wood) meets Rocky's (NeNe Leakes) new crush, Chris (Mark Consuelos), she claims that her 'gaydar' is going off and that Chris might be more interested in men. Elsewhere, Jane (Ellen Barkin) is wondering if her fellow realtor, Brice (John Stamos), is just a fashionable guy or if he is into fashionable guys. Bryan (Andrew Rannells) decides to throw a dinner party that doubles as a Gay or Straight fact-finding mission. Meanwhile, David (Justin Barth) is struggling with how the world will treat their future son.

Parenthood (NBC, 10 p.m.) – “Because You’re My Sister” – In the fourth season finale, Jasmine (Joy Bryant) and Crosby (Dax Shepard) plan an anniversary get away and receive exciting news. Kristina (Monica Potter) and Adam (Peter Krause) prepare for the next phase of her treatment. Drew (Miles Heizer) learns the results of his college applications. Amber (Mae Whitman) and Ryan (Matt Lauria) discuss the future of their relationship. Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia (Erika Christensen) plan an event for the entire Braverman family. Meanwhile, Sarah (Lauren Graham) is forced to make a decision about her relationships with Mark (Jason Ritter) and Hank (Ray Romano).

Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) – “Between Two Worlds” – Jules (Courteney Cox) worries over the lack of passion in her marriage, but when Ellie (Christa Miller) steps in, it becomes too much. Meanwhile, Bobby (Brian Van Holt) tries out a new name, and Laurie (Busy Philipps) helps Travis (Dan Byrd) get in touch with his inner hero.
