From Roel Reiné, the director of Death Race 2, comes the explosive, adrenaline-pumping film Death Race 3: Inferno, inspired by Roger Corman’s cult classic Death Race 2000. Most of the cast of Death Race 2 returns in this sequel, including Luke Goss as Frankenstein, Tanit Phoenix, Danny Trejo, Ving Rhames, Robin Shou and Fred Koehler. Dougray Scott joins the cast.
The high octane Death Race franchise continues with the story of Carl Lucas a.k.a. the legendary Frankenstein. After a botched robbery for crime boss Markus Kane, Luke gets arrested and sentenced to serve time on Terminal Island, the world's most dangerous prison where hardcore prisoners kill each other regularly. Harnessing the hatred of the robbers, murderers and rapists, The Weyland Corporation has turned the privately owned prison into a profitable televised pay-per-view life or death gladiator match, instead of providing any rehabilitation. Whoever wins five matches will be granted freedom.
After battling against other hardened convicts, Luke is only one race away from winning his freedom. Taking the unimaginably vicious competition to an all-new level, Luke and others are transported to South Africa’s infernal Kalahari Desert for a winner-take-all race. The vehicles will be even more outrageous and the battles will be blood-spattered brutal. Does Luke stand a chance, especially when behind-the-scenes forces are hard at work to ensure he fails?
