Jan 10 2013, What to watch: Critics Choice Awards, '30 Rock', 'Scandal', more

For Thursday, January 10th 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:

18th Annual Critics Choice Awards (The CW, 8 p.m.) – Les Miserable, Silver Linings Playbook, Lincoln, and Argo lead the nominees for the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) almost two-decade old tradition. The winners will be announced live from Santa Monica, CA.

30 Rock (NBC, 8 p.m.) – “Game Over” – Jack (Alec Baldwin) recruits rival Devin Banks (guest star Will Arnett) as his ally in an elaborate plan to discredit teenage nemesis and future KableTown CEO, Kaylie Hooper (Chloe Moretz). Liz (Tina Fey) explores her options to become a mother while Tracy (Tracy Morgan) tries to direct Octavia Spencer (guest star Spencer) in his new movie.

1600 Penn (NBC, 9:30 p.m.) – “The Skiplantic Ocean” – When the media reveals Becca’s (Martha MacIsaac) surprising news, Skip (Josh Gad) attempts to take her mind off the situation while President Gilchrist (Bill Pullman) has a group therapy session with his generals to help cope with things. Meanwhile, hoping to gain Becca’s trust and keep the secret safe from Marigold (Amara Miller) and Xander (Benjamin Stockham), Emily (Jenna Elfman) gets tangled in a web of lies.

Scandal (ABC, 10 p.m.) – “One for the Dog” – With Huck (Guillermo Diaz) being held under the Patriot Act, Olivia (Kerry Washington) and the team get unexpected assistance from an old friend. Meanwhile, Olivia helps Mellie (Bellamy Young) out of a very compromising situation that could affect Fitz's (Tony Goldwyn) future, and her relationship with Edison reaches a boiling point.

Elementary (CBS, 10 p.m.) – “M.” – Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) hunts “M,” a British criminal who appears to have followed Sherlock to New York. Meanwhile, Joan (Lucy Liu) has reservations about leaving Sherlock and taking on a new client.
