Antawn Jamison had a strong first half for the Cleveland Cavaliers (9-14). Jamison scored 20 of his 25 in the first half as the Cavs battled the Miami Heat (19-6) tonight in Miami. Alonzo Gee added 17 points and 2 steals. Kyrie Irving chipped in 16 points and 6 assists for the Cavaliers. Anderson Varejao had another solid game for the Cavs adding 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Miami was led by Dwayne Wade who missed the first game against the Cavaliers this season with 26 points and 6 assists. Lebron James added 24 points and 6 assists. Chris Bosh had 15 points and 9 rebounds. Mario Chalmers and Udonis Haslem each had 14 points for the Heat.
The Cavaliers kept this game close for the majority of the game. Miami pulled away in the fourth quarter to close out the Cavs to win 107-91.
Next up for the Cavaliers is Wednesday night 2/8/2012 against the Pacific leading Los Angeles Clippers (15-7) at Quicken Loans Arena. Tip off is at 7pm Eastern Standard Time.
The Clippers have five players averaging double figures in scoring. Blake Griffin leads the way averaging 21.2 points and 10.90 rebounds per game. Chris Paul is not far behind at 18.5 points and 8.9 assists per contest. Chauncey Billups who is out for the season has 15 points per game. Caron Butler and former Cavalier Mo Williams each average over 14 points per game.
