Actors Kevin Hart and Jamie Foxx are in serious discussion to star in the Screen Gems’ film “Black Phantom.” According to an exclusive report by Varity on March 11, “Ride Along” director, Tom Story is also in discussion to direct the film.
If the film makes it into production, it will team Foxx and Hart for the first time and also reteam Hart with Story and “Ride Along” producer Will Packer. Packer, who is producing the film along with Will Gluck, has long desired to do the film since producing “Ride Along.”
The film tells the story of a mob hitman who, as a result of being backstabbed, turns to the Black Phantom, who was actually hired to kill him for help. Sounds like an interesting story for both Hart and Foxx.
Both actors have been busy in their acting careers. Kevin Hart has recently starred in “Ride Along” and the romantic comedy “About Last Night”. Hart’s next film, “Think Like a Man Too” comes out in June. Jamie Foxx will be starring in two upcoming films. In May, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” will be out, and next on Christmas, the modern day revival of the movie “Annie” hits theaters.
Dave Lease and Megan Hinds originally wrote “Black Phantom”.
