Jamey Sheridan set to join the cast of 'NCIS' (Photos)

CBS announced yesterday that Jamey Sheridan will join the cast of "NCIS" in a recurring role. He will play Admiral John McGee, father of "NCIS" agent Timothy McGee. McGee's father has often been mentioned in the show's history, but this is the first chance viewers will get to put a face with a name.

The character will be introduced in an episode entitled "Squall" which is tentatively set to air in late March.

Sheridan's most recent role was on Showtime's "Homeland" where he played Vice-President Walden. Fans may also recognize him from such notable series as "Arrow", "Trauma," and "Law and Order: Criminal Intent."

In a recent interview with TVLine.com, Admiral McGee has been described by showrunner Gary Glasberg as "...complex and layered with some real surprises tied in."

So what do you guys think of the casting news? Are you excited that we'll finally get to meet McGee's Dad this season?
