James Woods in a new interview has opened up about a film that he is planning to direct, produce and star in, and none other than Twilight star Kristen Stewart is said to have a role in the upcoming film, An American Girl. He says he approached her 'before she was famous.' Woods says of Stewart's role: 'It's a slam dunk Oscar for her.'
According to RadarOnline, 'The role will have Stewart playing a small town girl who joins the Marines just to escape a sex tape scandal at home. She unexpectedly excels in the military but is also injured in the line of duty and returns home a changed woman.'
Kristen Stewart who took on the role of Joan Jett in the upcoming film The Runaways has proven herself to be one of the best young actresses in Hollywood. What do you you think - are you excited to see K.S. take on a role like this in An American Girl?

Kristin should have some of "young" hollywood scared, cuz she's GOOD! I can't wait for The Runaways. But I'll see anything she's in. I even went out and rented her past ones.
I like Kstew, but "Best young actresses in Hollywood" may be stretching it a bit.
I think she has a very limited range that she plays really well. When I see her play something other than a dark damaged young 21st century girl who rebels against conventionalism...then I'll be able to way in on her acting ability.
Can you honestly see Kstew in a period piece? I can't. I think she is very honest in her portrayals and her acting...she very much plays herself and in that way her acting comes across as natural and interesting. However, if she had to play something other than that? I foresee disaster.
I think right now in Hollywood there is a dearth of young actresses who can play more than contemporary acting parts. Ellen Page is like Kstew in that way.
Can you see Kstew in a comedy? No. She plays the same character over and over again. She does it really well...but it's the same.

i think that she would do awesome in this movie. she is one of the best actesses out there!! shes sooo real

Kristen has potential but she is too wooden in her performances. I agree with one comment where it stated that she does the same thing again and again and does it well. I would like to see some range and more depth. She has great looks but a bad attitude and she seems unsure of herself during interviews. Suck it up....you have the break of a lifetime, use it wisely.
