When "How I Met Your Mother" fans last saw James Van Der Beek as Simon on the CBS comedy, he was balding. Not much has changed for Robin's first boyfriend since that third season appearance, if the actor's tweets on Jan. 11 are any indication.
While prepping to shoot some scenes for the CBS comedy, the "Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23" actor shot a few photos of himself getting ready. He started with "Time to kiss the hair goodbye... (Well, at least for the afternoon)" and one last look at his blonde hair. Follow up tweets showed him getting balder and balder with comments like, "What is it about a well-painted bald cap that just makes you want to break bad?"
Eventually Van Der Beek completely transformed into Simon, as pictured above. "Does this mirror make me look fat & balding?" he tweeted.
James Van Der Beek will be returning to "How I Met Your Mother" for one last, huge installment of the Robin Sparkles saga, and the episode will feature other guest stars as well, such as Alan Thicke, Alex Trebek, Jason Priestley, K.D. Lang, and a number of others. The only question is, will it be able to top Van Der Beek's "Sandcastles in the Sand" appearance?
"How I Met Your Mother" airs on CBS Mondays at 8 p.m. EST.
