James Southerland returned to the court for the Syracuse University Orange for their matchup against longtime Big East rival St. Johns. Southerland missed the previous six games due to academic matters that have since been resolved.
Southerland proved to everyone how important he is for Syracuse as he scored 13 points on 4-10 shooting. Southerland also shot 3-7 from three point land, which helped the Orange dismantle St. Johns' 2-3 zone defense.
The Orange have struggled all season from three, as they are shooting just 31.8 percent from deep, good for ninth in the Big East. Southerland is the teams best shooter, making 2.1 threes per game so far this season.
