James McAvoy's Professor X character profile for 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

According to Comic Book Movie on Thursday, yet another "X-Men: Days of Future Past" character profile trailer clip made an appearance. This time a brief profile of Professor Charles Xavier, played by James McAvoy, reveals his abilities as a telepathic mutant. Other mutant character profiles have also been posted as well allowing audience members to become familiar with the roles prior to attending the theater.

Michael Fassbender plays Erik Lehnsherr in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'
Young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) meets his older self (Patrick Stewart) in the future.

There are also brief segments within Professor X's featurette that may reveal something that could be a spoiler of sorts, but not necessarily a bad thing if you enjoy watching revealing plot points. The film makes its debut in just over a week and had already premiered in New York last Saturday where an ensemble of celebrities from the film made their appearances to the press and fans.

The film takes place in the dystopian future where the last remaining mutants are attempting to survive the onslaught of Sentinels attempting to wipe out the last of their kind. Things are getting pretty heated as the Sentinels seem to fare pretty well in this post-apocalyptic environment and the only way to save mutant kind is by sending Logan/Wolverine back in time via Kitty Pryde's powers.

The time period in which Logan is to travel is that of around the Nixon administration where Bolivar Trask is creating a new kind of weapon against a new kind of enemy. His research within Trask Industries allowed him to create his first ensemble of Sentinels only to have his own technology turn on humans as well.

Logan attempts to meet up with Professor Xavier in order to reveal to him that it was his older version that had sent him back from the future. Though the reaction wasn't quite similar to that of Doctor Emmett Brown from "Back to the Future", but since the fate of the world is in their hands, it would behoove Xavier to team up with Logan in retreiving others to fight against the Sentinels before the advance further in technology.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" opens in theaters come May 23.
