Born with rhythm and blues in his bloodstream, James Kingston brings a deep and sensual feel to the classic style of ragtime blues. As the son of a Southern rock & roll blues guitar player, he grew up performing everything from Harlem Stride to New Orleans Blues, everywhere from St. Louis to the Mississippi River. Kingston, as a self-taught musician, blends the soothing sounds of 20th century jazz along with classic R&B adding his own personal touch to the mix.

Taking his inspirations from 1960’s R&B as well as some of the greats like Fats Waller and Duke Ellington, Kingston’s music aggressively pushes it to the limit with each note. With catchy beats and a creative fusion of piano and drums, a night with him is sure to put the groove back in your step.

You can see Kingston perform live tonight at Ivan Cane’s Café Was in Hollywood, from 6:30pm to late into the night. So come out, enjoy great music, good food and get ready to be amazed. For more information and upcoming shows, visit www.jameskingston.com.
