James Huang's 'Starting From Scratch' wins Best Comedy Feature Award at AOF Fest

James Huang's romantic comedy "Starting From Scratch" took the Best Comedy Feature award at this year's Asians On Film Festival on Saturday night.

The film tells the story of a young couple on the brink of divorce when they are audited by the IRS.

As they cope with their roller-coaster of emotions, they must sort through the last year of receipts. But through the audit process, the couple begins understand what went wrong with their lives.

Huang's film previously won the Breaking the Bow Festival "Battle of the Pitches" award. The prize included pitch meetings with FOX Searchlight and FOX 2000 executives through the now defunct FOX Diversity program.

"Starting From Scratch" stars James Huang, Elizabeth Sandy, Charles Kim, Billy Beck, Maddy Curley, Sadie Alexandru, Nicole Ghastin, Mallery Grady, Shelly Bhalla, Aaron Takahashi, Sara Mornell and Tom Wright.

The film will also screen at this year's DisOrient Film Festival on Friday, April 26.
