Monday morning, James Holmes was formally charged in court with 142 criminal counts, 24 of which are first-degree murder charges. Holmes is accused of killing 12 and injuring 58 people in a mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado ten days ago. Holmes was charged with depraved indifference murder which is two counts of murder for each person who was killed during the shootings.
Holmes, 24, is accused of a massive shooting during a midnight screening of "Dark Knight Rises." 12 people died, some were treated and released, and others have remained in intensive care at a local hospital.
Last Monday, Holmes appeared in court tired and somewhat confused, his hair was died red and he didn’t say a word. He was read his rights and denied bail. Cameras were allowed in court last week, but cameras were not allowed in court on July 30, 2012.
Over the last week, the media has questioned whether a second person of interest was involved with James Holmes in the Colorado theater shooting; local police stated that they did question a casual acquaintance of Holmes last weekend, but that person is not a person of interest in this case.
