According to Comic Book Movie on Friday, director James Gunn of "Guardians of the Galaxy" took to his Facebook page and expressed with deep gratitude of Vin Diesel's ability to voice the Groot character in the most eloquently way possible. The character is only seen saying it context in the written form in the comic book, however, one can only imagine how Diesel will bring the character to life in Gunn's movie.
The major compliment took place shortly after the final session with Diesel's voice was at an end and Gunn lamented on how astounding it was the work with an actor whom Gunn feels couldn't possibly compare with other actors even if he had auditioned everyone on Earth. Gunn even claimed they never even affect the sound of his voice at all as he brought to life the otherworldly verbiage in such a "house plant." He also proclaimed how he had appreciated working with the rest of the cast.
"God knows, I've been fortunate with the entire cast of Guardians of the Galaxy - but I've never been more stunned by an actor able to bring so much more to a role than I originally thought possible. Rocket may be the heart of GotG, but Groot is its soul."
As of now, it's approximately two months away from the acclaimed film as Gunn and his other cohorts go on a big time marketing campaign to promote a movie with characters virtually unknown to most movie goers. It is likely true comic fans anticipate with glee the approach of this movie and how it ties into Thanos and his big picture agenda. The director is also prominently posting pictures from his poster posse online as fans give their renditions of the artwork portrayal of the movie.
The movie stars "Parks and Recreation's" Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, "Star Trek's" Zoe Saldana as Gamora, "Fast and the Furious'" Vin Diesel's voice of Groot, and Bradley Cooper's portrayal of Rocket Raccoon. These misfits are up against the main villain of this film, Ronan the Accuser as played by Lee Pace.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" opens in theaters come Aug. 1.
