According to a post made on Facebook by James Gunn on Sunday, director of "Slither" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" that showed four Gamoras and a Ronan the Accuser. This goes to show how devoted he is not only to the movie, but the fans of the Marvel Studios film in which he created. Yesterday, he had a response to an article on io9 that mentioned the popularity was due in part by the film's humor. He did concur, but added, that he and his crew actually "gave a s**t" about the film.
Furthermore during Dragon Con Gunn and his brother Sean got a great shot by a fan made Groot costume crafted intricately by Lee Hurley of HurleyFX. A systematic walk through of the work in progress involving the Groot costume is available on Hurley's Facebook page. Gunn also made, jokingly of course, disparaging video remarks about Michael Rooker. During an interview with DragonConTV, Gunn even performed a Grooting session with his fans.
The film currently has surpassed the Russo brothers' "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and has now brought itself as being the number one film for three weekends as of this Labor Day weekend. Some of the fascinating touches of the film involved a dancing baby Groot tree which is currently gaining in popularity with toys being brought on the market to even recipes for Groot cupcakes. Gunn was even responsible for the motion capture of the dancing baby Groot character.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is in theaters now and stars "Parks and Recreation's" Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, "Star Trek's" Zoe Saldana as Gamora, wrestler Dave Bautista as Drax the Deystroyer, Vin Diesel who voices Groot in the film, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket.
