It was a good week for actor James Franco. With the release of his latest film, Oz the Great and Powerful on Friday, the actor got to celebrate another great accomplishment during the week. As reported by CBS News on Friday, Franco became the latest celebrity to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday.
It was definitely a dream come true for the star who has shown so much versatility so far in his career. Not only has he appeared on the big screen, he has also hosted the Oscars, directed independent films and has also made appearances on ABC daytime's longest running soap opera General Hospital where he played a character seemingly inspired by himself.
As far as the honor of receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Franco told CBS:
"When I got to L.A., I'd come here and see the stars and it just seemed like it was something that was part of the city and you would never crack that, it was part of Hollywood history. It's still baffling that my name will be there."
James Franco definitely deserves it as his talent is showcased in many genres and as he has proved it with a film he director titled Interior. Leather Bar, an independent film about gay sex. In the movie co-directed by filmmaker Travis Mathews, the Oscar-nominated actor shows off his creative versatility while also sending the message that he is not afraid to tackle subjects or take on projects that interest him.
Franco has also been very vocal about issues affecting the gay community. Just recently, the 34-year old actor spoke out against the Australian Classification Board for its decision to ban screening of a gay themed film titled I Want Your Love.
James Franco's star is located at 6838 Hollywood Boulevard.
