Hot off the stage of his Comedy Central roast on Labor Day, James Franco has decided to try his hand at playing a bad guy. He and Jason Statham will go toe-to-toe in Millennium Films' new release "Homefront." This week, the company debuted the trailer for the film, which opens November 27.
Chuck Logan's novel comes to life on the big screen as Statham plays former DEA agent Phil Broker. Broker moves his young daughter to a small town, one he thinks will be quiet. That is when he runs into a meth dealer(Franco) bent on turning his life into a nightmare. Action legend Sylvester Stallone wrote the adapted screenplay, and Gary Fleder("The Express", "Runaway Jury") directs.
Kate Bosworth, Winona Ryder and Frank Grillo also star in the film. Ryder and Franco were both in "The Iceman" earlier this year. Statham was last seen on the big screen starring in the indie action/drama "Redemption." He is currently filming "The Expendables 3", which is slated to hit theaters next summer.
