James Cromwell was arrested on Feb. 7, according to TMZ. The seasoned actor was taking part in a protest against cat torture with PETA spokesperson Jeremy Beckham at the University of Wisconsin when he and Beckham were taken away in handcuffs.
The high profile personalities carried signs saying "UW: End cruel cat experiments" while barging into a board meeting at the institution of higher education. The pair were there on the Madison campus to try to do away with what PETA says is an experimental program that is practiced there.
The University at Madison allegedly takes the lives of more than two dozen felines when they are "starved, deafened, and decapitated for brain research." PETA claims these studies, which are said to be done so that human hearing can be improved, has not "accomplished its goals."
The university being attacked with this particular verbal sentence denies this is happening to cats and that the specific accusations are not true.
Whoever is right, James Cromwell and Jeremy Beckham nevertheless were involved in a major intrusion in order to cause attention to this matter. During their protest, the "American Horror Story" thespian screamed about the alleged offense, "This is not science. This is cruel!"
At that point, Beckham was said to have assumed the pose of a seasoned protester. He allegedly made his body limp before falling to the floor in front of the university's Board of Regents. That said, the PETA representative held tight to the cat torture sign when he made this dramatic move.
And so, as 73-year-old actor and activist James Cromwell joined Jeremy Beckham to say what was on their minds in a move that was videotaped, the pair were arrested during their PETA cat torture protest.
