Attendees at the D23 Expo in Japan were treated to a tantalizing look at the upcoming Avatar section to be built at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The project, which has been in the works since 2011, will include new attractions that bring the world of Pandora and its inhabitants to the park.

Then Imagineer Joe Rohde assures that guests will actually fly across Pandora on a banshee and journey into the bio luminescent forest to see the glowing plants first hand. Rohde also promised that the land itself will seem to be a living creature that comes to life as guests interact with it.
Avatar is set to become a film franchise with three sequels, which opens up the possibility for new additions that could be linked to the later movies.
