James Cameron's Avatar fans will be disappointed to know that there will be slim pickings in the U.S. for any Avatar DVD or Blu-ray collectibles. Either James Cameron is saving all the best goodies for the November 2010 release or has found it more profitable to release exclusives overseas.
So what is the avid Avatar fan to do? Need not worry! There are many overseas merchants that will be more than happy to ship their items to New York City and other locations in the U.S. Some are very friendly and will be happy to work with international customers to ensure a satisfactory purchase experience. Be warned you may have to pay a higher shipping fee than domestic U.S. shipping fees and also possibly be subjected to a customs fee. Always ask the merchant to ship via regular postal service if possible as you are less likely to get hefty charges than when shipping via a courier. Make sure to ask for insurance options in case the merchandise gets damaged or lost. If you have a credit card that covers your purchases, use it! Air mail is always the preference as surface mail can take up to a few months!
