“From Houses to Homes,” has been a compassionate and endearing foundation whose commitment of love thy neighbor has built both new and renovated homes in poverty stricken neighborhoods of Guatemala. Founded in 2004, the organization uses funds from various private/corporate donations so that all proceeds go directly toward the needy families who are in dire need of assistance. As poor makeshift shacks built with flimsy materials and dirt floors make living condition unbearable and endanger the health and well being among children and adults, From House to Homes promises to better the lives of the Guatemalans, one loving home at a time.
With From Houses to Homes, families are selectively picked throughout Guatemala who would benefit the most. Revitalizing families with a better place they can call their own is now in the hands of newly appointed Board President, James Bellis. His life’s commitment for the well being of family and community is a perfect fit for the cause. “I am humble and honored to be selected to assist leading the organization. To date this organization has provided safe home for more than 720 families. My hope is that we stay the course and expand our reach in providing homes to poor families in Guatemala,” a quote from James Bellis. Mr Bellis is a local New Jerseyan, lives in Bedminster, NJ. He is married has two daughters and a son. Mr. Bellis also serves as Board President of the Hiram Art Museum in Oradell, NJ.
