James Beard Foundation Brings Celebrity Chefs Dinner to LA

Los Angeles was finally recognized for its food scene on May 5, 2014, when Nancy Silverton was named Outstanding Chef, the culinary world’s equivalent of an Oscar by the James Beard Foundation.

While most events of the foundation take place at the historic James Beard House in New York City, there is an opportunity to experience the culinary excellence associated with this organization through their Celebrity Chef’s Tour. Held in select cities throughout the country, The Pedaler’s Fork Restaurant in Calabasas will host this event on June 24, 2014.

Guests will enjoy a multi course meal paired with select wines and beers prepared by some of the most accomplished chefs in the country. While enjoying the cuisine, libations and company of fellow foodies in an innovative, in the country casual ambiance of the Pedaler’s Fork, guests will also interact with the chefs who include:

Chef Gavin Lansdale, Chef De Cuisine at Ford’s Filling Station in Culver City, California;

Chef Sam Baxter of Connie and Ted’s in Los Angeles;

Chef Christian A. Monchâtre, Executive Chef for one of San Francisco’s oldest, most prestigious, private social clubs, The Pacific Union Club, located on Nob Hill;

Chef Dan Murray, host chef of Pedaler’s Fork.

The menu promises to be seasonal,fresh, locally ans sustainably sourced and representative of California cuisine influenced by the countries,regions,training and experience that the chefs bring to the table.
