Jake 'The Snake' Roberts announced as 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Inductee

According to a Jan. 27 report from, hard-hitting WWE legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts has been announced as a 2014 WWE Hall of Fame inductee.

Roberts, 58, is perhaps best known for his stints in the WWF - the first between 1986 and 92, and the second between 1996 and '97.

Throughout his pro wrestling career, Roberts was a fan favorite for his intense promo videos, his dark, charming presence, along with his signature DDT maneuver.

Roberts brought a snake to the ring whenever he had a bout, and the fans absolutely loved it.

Roberts joins The Ultimate Warrior in the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class.

Warrior was also a fan favorite in the '90s, gaining a huge following due to his skills on the mic along with his superb wrestling technique.

The Ultimate Warrior brought incredible energy to the ring, each and every time he competed.

The 2014 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place the night before Wrestlemania XXX.

Roberts and The Ultimate Warrior will be inducted on Saturday, Apr. 5 from the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Roberts was widely expected to be a part of the WWE's Royal Rumble, but he revealed via social media that he wasn't able to make it.

"I'm clean, sober, mentally/ physically healthy, excited for the future and most of all happy. Great day no matter what did or didn't happen," Roberts said.
