Two years as head football coach at Mt. Juliet Christian Academy was enough for Jake Roberts.
Roberts has resign his position at MJCA and has accepted an assistant coaching position on Tobi Kilgore's staff at Karns.
"I have enjoyed my time at MJCA. I have never been around such hard working and determined players," Roberts said.
"They have done everything that I've ever asked of them, and I sincerely hope that I have left the program in better shape than when I first took the job."
"I learned a tremendous amount as a young head coach and I am grateful to MJCA for giving me the opportunity to mentor these young men."
The Saints who compete in Division II-A are coming off a 3-7 season and Roberts was 5-15 in his two seasons there.
Roberts started his coaching career at Cass (GA) high school in 2006 before coming to Cumberland University for four years (2007-10).
Before coming to MJCA, Roberts served as an assistant coach at Lebanon in 2011.
"Getting Jake to come to Karns is huge for our program and what we are trying to accomplish," Karns head coach Tobi Kilgore said.
"He has been a head coach and has worked at the collegiate level and any time you can get someone to come to your program with that type of experience it is a huge positive."
Currently there are open jobs at Mt. Juliet Christian Academy, Northeast, Pickett County, Hickman County, Hixson, Whitwell, Middle Tennessee Christian, Clay County, Bolivar, Fairley, Ezell Harding, Nashville Overton, Marion County, Chattanooga Central and Jackson Christian as schools currently looking for a head coach.
