Jake Pavelka leaves his fans speechless with his final rose

Jake Pavelka chose Vienna Girardi as the recipient of the final rose and his heart. Most fans were not surprised, as spoilers revealed the story months ago. 

What was more surprising to most, was the fact that this season was filled with controversy. Jake Pavelka was known as Jillian Harris' "perfect" protector, on the previous season of The Bachelorette, and he was not portrayed as dashing or exciting, although the pilot uniform might give some women pause.

This season, he stunned viewers by dismissing two bachelorettes on a night when he was to say goodbye to only one, and then at a later rose ceremony, he sent an extra women packing. Pavelka listened to the women as they criticized Vienna Girardi, and then made up his own mind to not be swayed by their words. He even stood firm and unwavering after hearing that one of his favorites, Rozlyn Papa, had been sent home by ABC, for having an affair with one of the staff members. Then with just four favorite women to choose from, Ali Fedotowsky tossed him aside for her job, and took herself out of the picture. Despite the blow to his ego and his heart, he persevered.

Fans questioned his loyalty to Girardi, and Internet forums went crazy each time he presented her with a rose, especially after claims were printed in the tabloids that accused her of lying, cheating and stealing. In the words of her ex-husband Sgt. Josh Riley,

I would advise him to run as fast as he can, but it might be too late. If he has any plans of marrying her, he should know she cheated on me, stole my money and even got me in trouble with the military with her big mouth."

Let's hope that Jake, the self-professed loser-at-love, hasn't just continued down his old familiar worn path.
