RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen is back to touring, after taking a short break to have surgery to repair his shoulder, after a freak snowboarding accident in January. Owen performed to a near sold-out crowd at Cowboy's in Dallas, TX on Friday night, and a sold-out crowd in Norman, Oklahoma at the Riverwood Casino.
"I'm thrilled to be back out on the road,”said Owen in a press release. "And to have a sold-out show our first weekend back is such an awesome feeling. I'm not very good at sitting around the house taking it easy. I had eight screws and a metal plate put in to repair my collarbone, so I've had to spend a lot of time at doctor's appointments and physical therapy sessions over the past few weeks. Getting back out on stage was the best therapy I've had."
Jake attended the Nashville Act of Valor movie screening last night. He was anxious to see the film, after having written and recorded a song ("The Best I Can,") that was included in the film's soundtrack. Act of Valor features active-duty Navy Seals, and will be in theaters on February 24th.
After the screening, Owen took some of the Seals downtown to some of Nashville's hot spots, like Robert’s Western World and the Hermitage Café.
“Getting to hang out with the Navy SEALS last night was truly the biggest honor of my life,”said Jake in a recent press release. “Everyone should go see Act of Valor. The movie is so intense, but it’s real. It reminds you that every single day you should be very grateful to live in this country.”
Owens has some upcoming television appearances scheduled. On February 14th, he will travel to New York City to perform his Top 10 single, "Alone With You" on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon show. You can watch the show at 12:30 am on KNVN channel 24 in Chico. Jake's special guests in the audience that night will be family members of the Navy SEALS Team 7.
On March 1st, look for Jake on the Chelsea Handler Show, which airs on the E! channel at 11:00 pm ET.
