Freshman Jake Marks pitched a complete game shutout to lead the University of Maine Black Bears baseball team to an 8-0 victory over Florida Atlantic at Boca Raton, Florida on Tuesday evening.
Marks allowed three hits and one walk in his first start of the season.and of his college career. Marks struck out eight.
Michael Fransoso had three hit and three RBI for the Black Bears. Fransoso has a .365 batting average through 19 games and leads the team with 19 RBI.
Troy Black had three hits from the number nine spot in the batting order for the Black Bears. Black leads the team with a .396 batting average.
Sam Balzano had two singles and two runs scored for the Black Bears.
Maine (9-10) will finish their Florida swing with another contest against Florida Atlantic on Wednesday evening at 6:30.
