Jake Locker injury update news has him returning to the Tennessee Titans for the Week 7 game. The Locker injury is apparently healed enough for him to play against the San Francisco 49ers, giving the team a chance to throw him into the fire almost immediately. According to a report from ESPN late Saturday (Oct. 19), the team decided that he looked good enough in practice at the end of the week that it was time to activate him.
Locker has been out since getting injured against the New York Jets back on Sept. 29. He suffered a sprained hip and it was originally thought that he could be out as long as 4 to 8 weeks. Instead, he has come back much quicker, possibly giving the Titans a chance to put together some wins and chase down one of the wild card slots in the AFC before the regular season comes to an end.
Despite taking the field in Week 7, it would be hard to see this Jake Locker injury update as a reason to start him against the San Francisco 49ers. He might be an option in deeper leagues, but he could be in for a rough game against one of the better defenses in the league. The Titans quarterback should be considered a risky start at best, especially because he could be out of rhythm with his offense at this point.
