Update: OAKLAND, Calif. Top news coming in today is about the continued story on Jahi McMath.
Now ABC 7 News in San Francisco says:
"A federal court has just ordered a mandatory settlement conference for Friday between Children's Hospital Oakland and the family of 13-year-old Jahi McMath."
It is very possible, says the news source, that the McMath family could inform press that they will transfer her to another medical facility.
That place may be the "New Beginnings" Community Center which is located on New York's Long Island.
ABC 7 News says that the facility was opened to treat brain injuries after the Terri Schiavo case. Schiavo was the reason behind a nationwide legal debate involving life support.
Jahi McMath has now been on the same ventilator at Children's Hospital in Oakland for a total of three weeks. She suffered severe complications after receiving tonsil surgery. She was declared brain dead by six doctors.
ABC 7 reported:
"A state judge's order that keeps the teen on a ventilator, against the hospital's wishes, expires Tuesday."
