The new Jacksonville Jaguars logo will send a message to opponents. Gone are the old Jaguars and a new logo will certainly also lead to a brief increase in merchandise sales. According to a report on Tuesday (Feb. 5), this is the first logo change in the 18-year history of the Jacksonville franchise. Some might not find it to be that much of a change, but the new look for the team is going to be much fiercer than in the past.
There are some very noticeable changes to the overall look and color of the new team emblem. First of all, the nose and eyes are now that odd blue color that Jacksonville apparently loves and the teeth are much sharper in the new version. The rounded head is gone as well; in its place a cat that looks like it could run races (and win) with a cheetah on the weekend.
This is all part of a huge re-branding of the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise and there is no time better than coming off a season that every fan wants to forget about. Fans can view this as a way for the franchise to establish a fresh start and put a stamp on the future. They still need to pick up some players this offseason to go along with the new "flash" and they should probably start by selecting a quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft.
The new Jaguars logo will appear on jerseys and team memorabilia very soon so that fans get start preparing for the upcoming year.
