Jadarius Garner found dead on Mississippi highway

Jadarius Garner was found dead on the side of a Mississippi highway earlier this week, following a two-car accident. His lifeless body was discovered on Thurs., Jan. 2, 2014 at 2:27 a.m. He had been struck by two cars. The drivers of those vehicles were not injured in the incident.

The 20-year-old Troy football player was pronounced dead at the scene, U.S. Highway 61 in Bolivar County, after authorities responded to what they believed to be a two-vehicle accident on the highway, reported Huffington Post. Authorities continue to investigate Garner's cause of death.

Jadarius Garner was remembered fondly by Troy coach Larry Blakeney: "Jadarius was a well-respected member of our football team and his loss will be felt by all of us."

In an unrelated incident late last year, two high school football players were killed in a tragic accident in Sharon, Penn. Another two high school athletes were injured.
