Did Jada Pinkett Smith have addictions? Yes, but she doesn't reveal what they were. As reported at WebProNews, on Sept. 24, 2013, in one of her Facebook posts where she reflects on turning 42, Jada Pinkett Smith said she had addictions:
"Yesterday I turned one year older, and I reflected on where I have been and where I am now. What I learned about myself is this, when I was younger I was not a good problem solver, meaning I had a very difficult time with dealing with my problems in life. I had many addictions, of several kinds, to deal with my life issues, but today, at 42, I have my wisdom, my heart and my conscience as the only tools to overcome life's inevitable obstacles. I have become a good problem solver with those tools, and I am damn proud. Thank you for all the love that was given to me for my birthday this year."
Although Jada Pinkett Smith doesn't mention her addictions, does the specific type matter? Is it more important that she realized she had a problem, and, moreover, that she found a way to deal with her addictions in a healthy and positive manner?
Celebrity gossip doesn't sell when the public reads nothing but the good news. Celebrity gossip sells when the public gets juicy, often bad news.
However, so far Jada Pinkett Smith, and her husband Will Smith, have been able to rise above that despite the rumors of their open marriage, despite the rumors of their marriage being on the rocks and despite what their son Jaden may post on Twitter about people dropping out of school or about people getting off their cell phones.
