This morning, Feb. 19, released the news that Jada Pinkett Smith will be playing the crime boss, Fish Mooney on Fox's upcoming series, "Gotham."

Fish Mooney, is an original character for the show and has been described as a sadistic crime boss and night club owner who can read peoples' mind and controls the crime in Gotham including her hit man Oswald Cobblepot also known as The Penguin played by Robin Lord Taylor.

Did anyone notice the pun of a "Fish" in charge of The Penguin? I wonder if she will be what turns him into who he becomes or maybe he kills her to take over power?

Jada Pinkett Smith is an actress, singer, author, song writer as well as wife to Will Smith and mother to Willow and Jaden Smith. She is famous for her roles on "Hawthorne", "Scream 2", and "The Matrix: Reloaded".

"Gotham" is set to air this fall and tell the early story of the corrupt city that is left in the hands of a young Detective Jim Gordon before Batman comes along.

So far Fox has cast the leads for Det. Jim Gordon, Barbara Gordon, The Penguin, The Riddler, and Alfred. Fans are waiting cautiously with this new series and many have dubbed it another "Smallville". Writers have confirmed that is is seperate from the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman" movie.

Does this casting shock anyone?
